Awards: Rosemary Sullivan sole Canadian on 2016 PEN Literary Awards shortlists

Stalin’s Daughter, Rosemary Sullivan’s biography of Svetlana Alliluyeva, the daughter of the Soviet dictator, has been shortlisted for the PEN Literary Awards’ Jacqueline Bograd Weld Award for Biography. The book, published by HarperCollins Canada, previously won the Hilary Weston Writers’ Trust Prize for Non-fiction and was shortlisted for the RBC Taylor Prize.

The winner of the $5,000 award, along with 2016 PEN Literary Award winners in the categories of sports writing and translation, will be announced on March 1. The remaining recipients will be announced April 11.
