Writers’ Trust of Canada gala promises black-tie literary treasure hunts, authors, and CanLit trivia

Joseph Boyden will be one of 40 authors decked out in black tie at tonight’s Writers’ Trust gala.

Cummerbunds are being tied and hair swept into up-dos for tonight’s Writers’ Trust of Canada fundraising gala at Toronto’s Four Seasons Hotel.

Hosted by CBC Radio’s Gil Deacon and actor Zaib Shaikh, the black-tie event features a literary treasure hunt and a guest writer at every table. Invited authors include Kamal Al-Solayee, Joseph Boyden, Krista Bridge, Jowita Bydlowska, Austin Clarke, Craig Davidson, Cary Fagan, Stacey May Fowles, Lawrence Hill, Michael Ignatieff, Alison Pick, Priscila Uppal, and Michael Winter. All proceeds go toward Writers’ Trust awards, grants, scholarships, and programs.

Once again this year, tables will be pitted against each other in a CanLit trivia quiz. Q&Q will post the entire quiz after the event, but here are a few questions to get you prepared.
