Alberta’s WordFest has announced its line-up for this year’s event, which takes place Oct. 11“16 in Banff and Calgary. The annual literary festival will host more than 6o events and 75 international authors, including headliners Anita Rau Badami, Peter Behrens, Elizabeth Hay, Wayne Johnston, and Johanna Skibsrud.

In addition to readings, panels, French-lanuage programming, and poetry nights, the festival is increasing public outreach with free events, a text-based billboard installation, and a radio play based on the work of Jessica Westhead.

This is the 16th year for WordFest, which was initiated as a means of promoting the Banff Centre’s writing and publishing programs.
