KISS “ a band that has never been celebrated for its subtlety “ has revealed KISS Monster, a limited-edition photo book that measures three feet tall and weighs 50 pounds, claiming it is the largest rock ‘n’ roll book ever produced.

Any remaining Kiss Army members who want to own this proclaimed piece of rock history will have to shell out an astonishing $4,250 U.S. for a closer look at Gene Simmons’ infamous tongue.

“Look, it’s priced according to the cost of goods,” said band frontman Paul Stanley at a Los Angeles media event attended by the LA Weekly. “It’s not entirely a profitable enterprise.”

The book was printed with 10 different covers, representing KISS’s biggest regional memberships, with each of its 1,000 copies signed by the band’s current lineup. And if that’s not enough blood and fire, KISS Monster was hand-stitched by the Vatican’s book binder.

In a promo video for the book, the group suggests it can also double as exercise equipment or home-building supplies.
