- Scandinavian writers continue to rule the mystery market. So it is no surprise that when Nesbø released an English translation of <i>Flaggermusmannen</i>, the first instalment in the Harry Hole series, the book became a bestseller. <br />

<i>The Bat</i> is currently popular at Munro's Books in Victoria and at Bookmark Books in Halifax.

- "Mystery fans thought they'd never read about Inspector Rebus again," says Mike Hamm, manager of Bookmark Books in Halifax, as Rankin had retired the bad-tempered, alcoholic detective back in 2006. <br />
<br />
But the Scottish crime writer didn't let the character lie for too long. <i>Standing in Another Man's Grave</i> is a current mystery favourite at Bookmark. "I would expect it to continue to be the number one choice for a mystery buyer this holiday season," says Hamm.
