Library Services Centre (LSC) is a central purchasing and processing centre for Canadian libraries. It provides services to over 200 libraries across Canada. LSC is a Canadian, non-profit corporation owned by libraries. We have the following position available: Account Executive

 Position Overview:

The Account Executive is responsible for developing an end-to-end sales strategy and execution, focusing on managing client relationships and expanding territory throughout all major customer-lifecycle touch points. Major duties include selling new accounts, upgrading/cross-selling existing accounts, negotiate pricing and contracts to close the sale, meet and exceed revenue targets. Work closely with LSC team to marketing and customer focused promotions, sponsorship and sales campaigns. More duties include developing new business models, assisting on pricing plans, and conducting competitive intelligence in publishing, libraries and new information markets


  • Lead drafting on Request for Proposals (RFP) within a collaborative, cross-functional team environment
  • Lead business development and client-focused sales strategy and plans, including innovative sales and marketing campaigns
  • Develop key contacts and business relationships;
  • Continuous generation of sales leads and prospecting through phone calls, emails and video conferencing
  • Provide input on sales and marketing budget, including accurately forecast results to management
  • Develop strategic lead lists, using a variety of sources;
  • Meet new sales quota by conducting face-to-face/web-ex appointments;
  • Lead professional and informative sales pitches and presentations
  • Work closely with LSC team on developing account plans, work with LSC team to resolve customer issues
  • Develop training plans to improve and develop new sales and marketing capabilities
  • Accurately translate and communicate information on new and existing products and services
  • Lead client briefings and client reporting in partnership with Customer Service department
  • Monitor opportunities for sponsorship and customer-focused networking
  • Explore new markets and territory to promote LSC capabilities, products and services, examine market research to evaluate ongoing product/market requirements and drive new business;
  • Acquire knowledge of internal and competitive offerings for all products, pricing and solutions

 Key Qualifications

  • 3-5 years' proven sales experience, preferably in the government sector, publishing or information industry, with a validated, exemplary track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets
  • Experience working within B2B sales environment
  • B.Sc. or B.A. in business or equivalent combination of experience and education
  • Ability to learn and pivot quickly
  • Superior communication, stakeholder and relationship management skills
  • Highly motivated, self-starter who is open, curious and collaborative
  • Knowledge of warehouse and supply chain economies
  • Understanding of information markets, including libraries or adjacent sectors in galleries, libraries, archives and museums (GLAM) is an asset
