Students and supporters in cities across Canada will be hitting the streets tomorrow for another global climate strike, following a week of protests and climate-related activities inspired by #FridaysForFuture, a movement inspired by Swedish teen activist Greta Thunberg.
In a show of support for Thunberg – who was just nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize – Penguin Random House Canada has donated 1,500 copies of her book No One Is Too Small to Make a Difference (Penguin U.K.) to First Book Canada for distribution to schools across Canada. The books will be shared with winners of a contest, running Oct. 1-31, that calls on classrooms to share what they are doing to help protect the environment.
PRHC has also encouraged its employees – who are free to join the march – to participate in a week-long clothing drive to benefit Toronto’s Oasis Clothing Bank, and will be gathering up books tomorrow to donate to local service-oriented organizations throughout the city.
