Maria Reva, Éric Chacour longlisted for 2026 Dublin Literary Award

Canadian novelists Maria Reva and Éric Chacour are among the 20 writers longlisted for the 2026 Dublin Literary Award.

The 20-book longlist for this year’s €100,000 prize, worth about $161,000, was announced on Feb. 17. The award honours excellence in world literature, and titles are nominated by public libraries from around the world.

The longlisted books were chosen from the 69 books that were nominated for this year’s award by 80 libraries in 36 countries.

Maria Reva’s debut novel Endling, published by Knopf Canada/Penguin Random House Canada, was nominated by the Ottawa Public Library.

Éric Chacour’s What I Know About You, translated by Pablo Strauss and published by Coach House Books, was nominated by the Bibliothèque de Québec and the Toronto Public Library.

They are joined on the longlist by international literary heavyweights including Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Sally Rooney, Ali Smith, and Olga Tokarczuk.

A six-book shortlist for this year’s award will be named on April 7, with the prize to be awarded on May 21 during the International Literature Festival Dublin.
