Four Canadian authors are shortlisted for the Horror Writers Association (HWA) 2025 Bram Stoker Awards.
The international awards honour the best English-language writing in dark fantasy and horror writing. Active members of the Horror Writers Association nominate and vote on the winners in 12 categories.
Canadian writers are nominated in the following categories:
Superior Achievement in a Novel
- Silvia Moreno-Garcia for The Bewitching (Del Rey/Penguin Random House)
Superior Achievement in a Young Adult Novel
- Linda Cheng for Beautiful Brutal Bodies (Roaring Brook Press/Macmillan Publishers)
Superior Achievement in a Fiction Collection
- Gemma Files for Little Horn: Stories (Shortwave Media)
Superior Achievement in Long Fiction
- A. C. Wise for “Wolf Moon, Antler Moon” (Reactor)
Winners will be announced on June 6 at StokerCon 2026 horror literary convention in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, which runs June 4–7.
