The longlist has been announced for the 2026 Stephen Leacock Memorial for Humour.
The annual $25,000 prize celebrates excellence in Canadian literary humour, and counts among its previous winners Will Ferguson, W.O.Mitchell, Stuart McLean, Mordecai Richler, and Terry Fallis, who is nominated again this year.
There are 10 books on the longlist for this year’s prize. Three finalists will be named next month, with the winner to be revealed at a gala dinner on June 20.
The longlisted titles are:

- Homebound by Josh Quirion (Shoreline Press)
- Billy Crawford’s Double Play by Brad Smith (James Street North Books/Wolsak and Wynn)
- Colin Gets Promoted and Dooms the World by Mark Waddell (Viking Canada/PRHC)
