FINAL. The final cover features a dead creature that is mostly kitten, with some iridescent fish scales added. Painting the scales and fur took forever but was so much fun: it kept looking more and more lifelike. I photographed the inside of a jewellery box drawer and matched the shadows on the creature and the type. The final cover is bold and unsettling. Exactly what we look for at CZP.
