I love the aesthetic sensibility of maps. The simplicity, the communication via precise lines and tiny symbols, the whole visual language. So I’m a sucker for a good map cover, and Arvida stands out this year as a notable example. The designer employs bold, flat, striking colour, and does what more of her colleagues should do: considers the complete object, incorporating a comprehensive design that utilizes the full jacket surface including back, spine, and flaps. – Jessica Sullivan.
