Looking back at 2014: the year in review

Libraries launching: Halifax’s ambitious 108,000-square-foot central library – built to the tune of $57 million – opens its doors in December. The new building includes a creative lab, recording studio, and rooftop terrace. Some 4,000 kilometres away, Calgary Central Library announced a major revamp (featuring an entrance over the LRT tunnel), slated for 2018, and the Toronto Reference Library completed its five-year, $34-million revitalization in September.
