Jon Klassen wins the Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award
The Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award, which was created in 2002 by the Swedish government to honour the memory of Astrid Lindgren, is awarded annually “to a person or organisation for their outstanding contribution to children’s and young adult literature.”
Tundra Books wins 2026 Bologna Prize
Canadian publishers have now won the North America region prize ten times since the prize was established in 2013.
Group ends Giller Prize boycott
The group of authors and cultural workers, which has been boycotting the prize and campaigning for the Giller to end its partnerships with sponsors Scotiabank, Indigo, and the Azrieli Foundation since November 2024, announced on April 10 that it was ending its years-long boycott of the prize.
