BIPOC of Publishing in Canada is calling for participants to join its annual mentorship program.

The program pairs BIPOC publishing professionals with those looking to learn more about the industry. The program is not designed to lead to a job, but rather aims to be “a meaningful informational and networking tool to help mentees get a fuller understanding of the publishing industry; build a support network for BIPOC seeking to enter the industry or early in their careers; and target some of the barriers to entry in an industry that is heavily reliant on networking and ‘who you know’.”

This year, mentors selected for the program will receive a $300 honorarium.

The program was launched in 2020, when 11 mentors and mentees were paired. Last year, 13 pairs of mentors and mentees were matched through the program.

Applications close April 29.
