Montreal-based poet and translator D.M. Bradford was named the winner of the 2023 John Glassco Translation Prize at an event in Montreal on Oct. 28.

D.M. Bradford won the prize for House Within a House (Brick Books), a translation of Nicholas Dawson’s Désormais, ma demeure (Tryptique, 2020).

The shortlist was announced in October. First book-length translations into French or English published between July 1, 2022 and June 30, 2023 were eligible for the prize administered by the Literary Translators’ Association of Canada (LTAC).

This year’s jury was composed of Sonya Malaborza, Luba Markovskaia, and Simon Brown.
