Dionne Brand’s Love Enough honoured by Project Bookmark

Dionne Brand’s 2014 novel, Love Enough (Knopf Canada), about the intertwined stories of four young Torontonians, is the 22nd literary work to receive a designation on Project Bookmark Canada’s literary trail. The organization marks the real-life places where famous Canadian literary works have been set.

The plaque, unveiled on Dec. 8, references a passage in the book that takes place near the Toronto waterfront.

An online exhibition featuring an interview with Brand and creative production by Accounts and Records is available on Project Bookmark Canada’s website.

Brand, a former Toronto poet laureate who was appointed a member of the Order of Canada in 2017, has a long list of accolades to her name, including the Griffin Poetry Prize, the Governor General’s Literary Award, the Trillium Book Award, the Pat Lowther Memorial Award, and the Toronto Book Award. Other Project Bookmark authors on the CanLit trail include Jean Little, Lawrence Hill, Alistair MacLeod, Carol Shields, and Dennis Lee.
