The next three winners of the Forest of Reading Awards have been announced as the annual festival enters day two of the ceremony.
Yesterday, the winners of the Blue Spruce Award, the Red Maple Award, and the White Pine Award were announced. Tomorrow, May 20, the winners of the French-language Forest of Reading programs (Le prix Peuplier, Le prix Mélèze, and Le prix Tamarac) will be released.
Today’s winners are as follows:
Silver Birch Express Award (Fiction/nonfiction selected by students in Grades 3–4)
Peter and Ernesto: Sloths in the Night, Graham Annable (First Second/Raincoast Books)
Silver Birch Fiction Award (Fiction selected by students in Grades 3–6)
The Jigsaw Puzzle King, Gina McMurchy-Barber (Dundurn Press)
Yellow Cedar Award (Nonfiction selected by students in Grades 4–8)
