Gwen Aube, Tiana Reid, and Misha Solomon are finalists for the 2026 Dayne Ogilvie Prize.

Three writers have been named finalists for the 2026 Dayne Ogilvie Prize for LGBTQ2S+ Emerging Writers.

The annual $12,000 prize is presented annually by the Writers’ Trust of Canada to an emerging writer who identifies as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, or two-spirit for their debut book. This year, all three finalists are nominated for poetry collections from independent Canadian presses. The winner will be named at the Writers’ Trust Awards in Toronto on Nov. 10. The two finalists will each receive $2,000.

A jury comprised of francesca ekwuyasi, Kama La Mackerel, and Michael V. Smith selected the finalists from submissions from 14 publishing imprints.

The finalists are:

• Gwen Aube for Missed Connections with Tall Girls (Little Puss Press)
• Tiana Reid for Night Nursing (icehouse poetry/Goose Lane Editions)
• Misha Solomon for My Great-Grandfather Danced Ballet (Brick Books)

The prize was established in 2007 by Robin Pacific in memory of her friend, editor, and literary manager Dayne Ogilvie.
