Online literary journal the Hamilton Review of Books is stopping publication at the end of the year.
Dana Hansen, the publication’s founding publisher and editor-in-chief, shared the news on the journal’s website on Nov. 27.
Hansen launched Hamilton Review of Books in 2016 alongside editors Sally Cooper, Rhonda Dynes, Krista Foss, and Jessica Rose. Over nine years, the free journal has published reviews, essays, interviews, excerpts, roundups, columns, and podcast episodes.
The journal will cease publication at the end of the year for reasons that will not be surprising, Hansen says: “a dearth of money and time.”
Hansen thanked the current editorial staff and advisors. The website will remain online “for the foreseeable future as an archive of some truly great writing about books,” Hansen wrote.
