HarperCollins Canada senior vice president of sales & marketing Leo MacDonald will be retiring this fall.
MacDonald “has overseen an unprecedented evolution and growth trend” for the publisher, and his “hands-on approach and commitment has cemented a lasting legacy of author care and success,” HarperCollins Canada said in announcing his retirement.
MacDonald has been at HarperCollins Canada for 18 years. In 2007, he was promoted to vice president of sales and marketing, and was promoted to senior vice president of sales and marketing in 2014.
MacDonald’s last day will be November 30, 2023.
Cory Beatty has been promoted to vice president of sales and marketing, and will report directly to president Craig Swinwood. Beatty has been with HarperCollins for 19 years, working most recently under MacDonald as he led the marketing and publicity teams.
