The British Columbia Historical Federation has named historian and writer Robin Fisher the winner of the 2022 Lieutenant Governor’s Medal for Historical Writing for his book Wilson Duff: Coming Back, A Life (Harbour Publishing).
Nanaimo-based Fisher received the award, which comes with a $2,500 prize, at the federation’s annual conference in Princeton, B.C., on July 28.
His book follows the life and work of Wilson Duff, a pioneering B.C. anthropologist and museologist who is remembered for his research on Indigenous cultures of the Northwest Coast.
