Indigo is undertaking a book giveaway on Sept. 14.
Ten thousand copies of four titles will be given away at Indigo, Chapters, and Coles stores across the country this Saturday, an indication perhaps of the company’s renewed focus on books after Indigo Books and Music returned to private hands.
The promotion features Heather’s Picks titles that, according to Indigo’s press release, have inspired founder and CEO Heather Reisman. The giveaways “aim to ignite a passion for reading in more and more people.”
The four titles are: Afghan writer Khaled Hosseini’s novel The Kite Runner; New York Potawatomi botanist Robin Wall Kimmerer’s Braiding Sweetgrass: Indigenous Wisdom, Scientific Knowledge and the Teachings of Plants; and two other books by American authors, Sue Monk Kidd’s novel The Book of Longings and Jeannette Walls’s memoir The Glass Castle.
