Kids Can Press announces management changes

Major changes are underway at Kids Can Press, where a trio of senior leaders are taking on expanded leadership roles and president and publisher Lisa Lyons Johnston will be leaving the company.

Lara Caplan, associate publisher, operations and business development; Naseem Hrab, associate publisher, creative; and Sarah Labrie, director, sales and marketing, “will now have expanded leadership roles,” Kids Can Press announced in a press release on April 24.

The changes were made as part of a restructure at the publisher’s parent company, Corus Entertainment, the company said.

Kids Can Press will continue to report to animation studio and entertainment company Nelvana, as has been the structure since 2000. The publisher will also continue to pursue opportunities to partner with Nelvana.

Lyons Johnston, who has been president and publisher for the last five years and was president for the previous 10 years, will be leaving the organization. She will act as a consultant for Kids Can Press until May 19.
