Six Canadian graphic novelists are being honoured with a set of stamps featuring their work.
Canada Post announced the six-stamp series on Nov. 20. It is the second time that the Crown corporation has issued stamps featuring the work of Canadian graphic novelists.
The stamps feature new work from Kate Beaton, Jimmy Beaulieu, Guy Delisle, Julie Doucet, Bryan Lee O’Malley, and Michael Nicoll Yahgulanaas.
As with the first series of graphic novelist stamps, unveiled at the 2024 Toronto Comic Arts Festival, the artists worked with Canada Post to create new art for the stamps. Each stamp features the main character from one of each of the artist’s works reading the book in which they appear. In the case of four of the artists, whose works are often autobiographical, the character depicted is the artist themselves.
The stamps, as well as collectible first day covers featuring each one, are now available for purchase from Canada Post.
