Quill & Quire’s June issue was originally going to be dedicated to the winners of our inaugural industry awards. While those awards will be postponed until later this year, we wanted to find a way right now to acknowledge the hard work, kindness, and innovation that Canadian publishing has shown over the past month since the COVID-19 pandemic has turned the industry – and the entire world – upside down.
We’re asking you to tell us about a person, group, business, or organization that has in some way, big or small, contributed to sustaining the publishing industry. Is it a retailer making extra efforts to get books into the hands of its customers? A publisher supporting local booksellers? An author who has found a creative way to promote their own work, or those of their fellow authors?
Select stories will be published in our June print issue, which is now dedicated to the theme of “resilience,” with all nominations available to share online. Deadline is April 27.
