Richard Nadeau

Richard Nadeau, Figure 1 Publishing’s co-founder and executive vice-president of sales & distribution, is set to retire in April.

Nadeau has worked in the book industry for 30 years, as a bookseller, associate publisher, and sales executive, at, among others, Duthie Books, Siddall & Associates, and Douglas & McIntyre. In 2012, he co-founded Figure 1 Publishing and has headed the company’s global sales and distribution networks.

“Richard has had a long and remarkable career in books. We’ve worked together for two decades now, with the past nine as co-owners of Figure 1 perhaps being the most intense and rewarding of our careers,” Chris Labonté, publisher and president of Figure 1, said in a release. “I’m going to miss his thoughtful counsel, his business acumen, and his willingness to take a call at a moment’s notice. He has been a truly great partner.”

Nadeau has chosen not to stay on as a co-owner of Figure 1 in his retirement.
