Ripple Foundation’s Youth Team has announced the annual Express Inspire Connect conference will focus on “how AI is impacting their education and will shape their future working lives.”
The conference, which bring students across Canada in grades 8–12 together, will be held virtually on April 13 from 12 p.m.–4 p.m. Session topics will include “how learning language model systems are built (including the risks of biases and hallucinations), demonstrate how AI-powered chatbots can transform creative writing, and spotlight the ethical challenges of AI.”
“Organized by students, for students, this year’s conference could not be exploring a more topical and intriguing subject, which will doubtless have a striking impact on the future of today’s writers,” said Ivy Wong, founder of Ripple Foundation in the press release. “Attendees will have the chance to debate and learn alongside their peers, gaining a real insight into sides of AI that they may not have come across before.”
Sponsor donated prizes that students can win include a year’s subscription to the Walrus Magazine, bestselling titles from Penguin Random House Canada, Indigo gift cards, and more.
Attendance at the conference is free of charge. Students can register here: Express Inspire Connect – Ripple Foundation.
