Ripple Foundation announces conference

Ripple Foundation’s Youth Team has announced the annual Express Inspire Connect conference will “explore the hidden forces behind your screen and discover how they are redefining who we are.”

The conference, which brings together students in grades 8–12 from across Canada, will be held virtually on March 22 from 12 p.m.–4 p.m. EST. Session topics will include “more than a trend, a filtered reality, bridging influence to business, and the algorithm made me do it.”

“Technology is shaping every aspect of our lives, especially in the creative fields,” Hanna Grover, youth team lead for British Columbia, said in the press release. “It’s important we understand what this means for us today, and in our future as students and professionals.”

Sponsor-donated prizes that students can win include a year’s subscription to the Walrus Magazine, gift cards to Fablefern Bookshop, bestselling titles from Penguin Random House Canada, and more.

Attendance at the conference is free of charge. Students can register here: Express Inspire Connect.
