Three Canadian writers are among 10 international recipients of the Horror Writers Association’s 2024 scholarship and diversity grants.

Montreal writer Madeleine Pelletier has been named the winner of the $2,500 Mary W. Shelley Scholarship. The annual scholarship, named after horror great Mary Shelley, aims to encourage more women to write horror fiction.

Elis Montgomery and Ash Vale are among the seven recipients of this year’s Diversity Grants. Grant recipients receive $500.
