University of Toronto Press is committing 100 per cent of the profits from the sale of its Black studies publications this year to Black Lives Matter Toronto.

In a statement, the scholarly publisher says, “University of Toronto Press (UTP) is committed to publishing books that not only advance intellectual and academic conversations but contribute to the growth of society and culture. We therefore stand in solidarity with those around the world who are speaking out against the ongoing systemic oppression and violence against communities of colour and Black people in particular. UTP acknowledges and supports this: Black Lives Matter.”
