Writers’ Trust announces 2019–2020 Berton House writers

The Writers’ Trust of Canada has named its Berton House Writers’ Retreat residents for the coming year.

The three-month Dawson City, Yukon, residency, administered by the Writers’ Trust of Canada, provides writers with a monthly honorarium and the opportunity to become involved in the local community while focusing on a new body of work.

Lethbridge, Alberta, playwright Greg MacArthur (October–December 2019) will be the first writer to live and work in the childhood home of author Pierre Berton, followed by Edmonton author Greg Bechtel (January–March 2020); Montreal author Eliza Robertson (April–June 2020); Jasper, Alberta, journalist and illustrator Ailsa Ross (July–September 2020); and Toronto poet Robin Richardson (October–December 2020).

The current writer-in-residence is Carleigh Baker.
