Alberta Book Publishing Awards shortlist announced

Greg Younging’s Elements of Indigenous Style is shortlisted for the Alberta Book Publishing Awards (Monica Miller)

Keith Maillard, Winnie Yeung and Abu Bakr al Rabeeah, and the late Greg Younging are among the writers and book designers shortlisted for the Alberta Book Publishing Awards. Awards will be presented in nine categories by the Book Publishers Association of Alberta at a gala to be hosted in Edmonton on Sept. 13.

Sharon Budnarchuk, co-owner of Edmonton’s oldest independent bookstore Audreys Books, will be given the Lifetime Achievement in Publishing award. The recipient of the Mel Hurtig Publisher of the Year award will be announced at the gala in September.
