B.C. authors shortlisted for Pacific Northwest Book Awards

Naomi Klein, Jules Sherred, and TD Canadian Children’s Literature Award—winner Kim Spencer have been shortlisted for the Pacific Northwest Book Awards.

The prizes are administered by the The Pacific Northwest Booksellers Association. The PNBA is an association of independent bookstores from British Columbia and five U.S. Northwest states: Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, and Alaska.

The awards (up to six books annually) are given for the most impressive original works across all genres by authors who reside full-time in the Pacific Northwest. Winners will be announced in January 2024.

The shortlisted Canadian titles are:

  • Jules Sherred, Crip Up the Kitchen: Tools, Tips, and Recipes for the Disabled Cook (Touchwood Editions)
  • Naomi Klein, Doppleganger: A Trip into the Mirror World (Knopf Canada/Farrar, Straus and Giroux in U.S.)
  • Kim Spencer, Weird Rules to Follow (Orca Book Publishers)
