Forty years in the bookselling business is a long time. But to celebrate, The Book Keeper in Sarnia, Ontario, is keeping things short.

The Southern Ontario bookstore is calling for writers to submit flash-fiction (less than 300 words) for their Message on a Bottle contest. The selected authors will have their short stories published on beer labels for Sarnia’s craft brewery Refined Fool.

The deadline for submission is Friday, Feb. 28. PDF entries can be submitted through the Refined Fool website.
