The League of Canadian Poets has announced three longlists for their 2019 Book Awards. The non-profit organization, which advocates on behalf of Canadian poetry, has announced the contenders for three awards: the Gerald Lampert Memorial Award, for a debut book of poetry; the Pat Lowther Memorial Award, for a book of poetry by a Canadian woman; and the Raymond Souster Award, for a book of poetry by a League of Canadian Poets member.
The winners in these categories as well as the 2019 Sheri-D Wilson Golden Beret Award for Spoken Word will be announced in St. John’s, Newfoundland, on June 8. The winner of each award will receive $2,000.
