Publisher Leigh Nash has resigned from House of Anansi Press, as has publicity director Debby de Groot.

Nash’s last day at Anansi will be April 14 and de Groot’s will be March 24, the publisher announced in a press release. Both will continue to work with Anansi on a freelance basis, according to the announcement .

“We are grateful to both for their immense contributions in their roles with us,” Anansi President Semarah Al-Hillal said in a statement.

Al-Hillal will step in as interim publisher and Karen Brochu, vice president of sales and marketing, will manage the transition with the publicity team, Al-Hillal said in a release.

Nash joined Anansi last April, taking over from Al-Hillal, who had been acting publisher after Bruce Walsh stepped down as publisher in August 2021. De Groot has been publicity director since March 2021.
