The shortlists for the 2023 Newfoundland and Labrador Book Awards (NLBAs) were announced on September 14.

The NLBAs are coordinated annually by WritersNL to recognize excellence in writing by authors residing in Newfoundland and Labrador. Prizes alternate every other year and the 2023 awards honour achievements in poetry and nonfiction.

Readings and winner announcement events will be held at the A.C. Hunter Public Library in St Johns, on September 26 for the The E.J. Pratt Family Poetry Award, and on September 27 for the Power Family Non-Fiction Award.
