Toronto entertainment production Entertainment One has partnered with Toronto-based online story-telling community Wattpad to adapt fiction from the platform into feature films, TV, and virtual reality. Wattpad will identify from its more than 400 million stories the content it sees as having the most potential for eOne projects.

“We look forward to working with the talented team at Wattpad to find standout ideas that have resonated with the passionate Wattpad community. The powerful data and insights from Wattpad will allow us to tap into the new generation of authors and gives us early access to captivating proven stories and characters,” eOne president Jocelyn Hamilton says in a press release.

Wattpad also recently teamed up with HarperCollins to publish a number of its stories as print books, and has worked with presses like KCP Loft on book projects in the past.
